The buoys that are used in regatta in Australia are these 55c balloons. Because they are soft and pop when hit the cost of boat repairs when hitting the buoys is nil. This not only saves on set up costs but also in individual boat repairs. It is a brilliant idea and also makes for great entertainment when boats are seen going around the course with a balloon attached to it ( no names mentioned )
