ELECTRIC OUTBOARD MOTORS

This outboard motor is designed for medium-sized to large racing and sports boats up to about 1 m hull length. Power is transmitted from the integral SPEED 820 BB TURBO RACE electric motor to the propeller shaft by means of metal bevel gears, and the shafts run in V2A stainless ballraces. The out-board motor is mounted on the boat´s transom by means of four screws. The hole spacing is the same as that of the OS MAX 21 XM outboard glowplug motor (Order No. 1912), so the two power plants are easily
interchangeable. The mount permits about 12 mm height adjustment and thrustline angle adjustment of about +/- 10°.

With SPEED 600 RACE 7,2 V. This unit is a further development of the GTX-600 outboard motor. Power is transmitted from the motor to the propeller by means of a flexible shaft running in a Teflon sleeve, producing a system which is highly efficient and virtually wear-free. The flexible shaft can also be maintained easily through the maintenance opening. The standard SPEED 600 RACE 7.2 V electric motor is adequate for medium-sized model boats, but other motors of the SPEED 500, 600 and 650 series can also be installed. The outboard motor is mounted on the model boat´s transom by means of four screws, and its installed height can be adjusted through about 7 mm. The thrust angle can be adjusted through about +/- 5°. The housing is of generous size, and can easily accommodate a water cooling coil. The coil can be retro-fitted at any time, and the set includes the water inletnipple required for water-cooling.

The GTX-500 is a development of the GTX-480 outboard motor. Motor power is transmitted to the propeller by a flex-shaft made of V2A stainless steel, which is stronger than that used in the GTX 480. An adaptor is supplied in the set which also allows motors of the SPEED 480 size to be fitted, in addition to all SPEED 500-size motors. This versatile arrangement makes it possible to match the new outboard motor to the modeller´s requirements. The electric motor supplied with Order No. 2371 is powerful enough to give a good performance to small electric racing boats The outboard motor is fixed to the model boat´s transom using 2 or 4 screws, and can be adjusted in height and thrust angle.
